Protecting Our Children at Church

I have been working at a local church in Ohio for the last 13 years.  I believe the greatest thing we added the last couple of years was a background screening on all those people that want to work with our kids.  As part of the requirements we do a sex offender search.  Doing this has allowed those who in trust their children to us the security of knowing their children are being loved in the correct way. What parent doesn’t want that peace of mind?  The church should be known for the love they show, but they should never take advantage of that love.

Last week I was at the public library looking for a book on auto mechanics. I’ve been having trouble with my carburetor, and I think I know what’s wrong, but I needed to double check. I came across this book called magic tricks revealed, and in this book they had the most insane magic tricks I’d ever seen. Some of them were basic illusions like card tricks and rabbit in the hat tricks, but some went way beyond sawing the lady in half. Some were purely based on some esoteric ideas from metaphysics that are better left unsaid. I tried to photocopy this book, but every time the pages came out of the copying machine, they looked like they were some ancient forgotten language the predates hieroglyphics.

Floor Model Cooler

I went shopping online for floor model water coolers that I wanted to set up in our family room. I found a nice one that would accept any five or three gallon bottle, so I ordered it immediately. The cooler arrived in a mere three days, and it was easy to unpack and assemble with no help. It has a nice look that fits in well with our sporty decor. It is very quiet to run and we never hear the compressor or any strange rattles like are common with other coolers. The child proof safety button for the hot water is appreciated, because we have small children.
