Can You Really Play Without Pretty Uniforms?

I have always loved fashion, hated sports, and thought of casual wear as not wearing stockings.  My fifteen-year-old daughter is happy in jeans and a t-shirt, wears flip flops to school, and loves hockey.  The first year she joined the team I began to get involved but was horrified at the team colors.  She laughed and told me it is possible to play a sport, even without pretty uniforms.  Then I noticed that they did have cute custom sports socks, and felt somewhat better.  As the year progressed and I began attending her games, I learned to like the game.  I did not even mind the uniform colors after a while.
